SHERINA MUYANA
Co-Founder, Director & COO
Sherina Munyana is a seasoned development professional with over 15 years of experience, focusing on value chain development and local capacity building. She is the Founding Member of Africa Development Promise–Uganda, where she served as Country Director until 2020. During her tenure, she helped shape and grow the organization’s impact through her deep understanding of the local context.
Sherina is also the Chief Executive Officer of Sanitation Solutions Group, a Uganda-based social enterprise that delivers affordable, sustainable sanitation products and services in both urban and rural communities. Previously, she worked as Program and Communications Manager for Water For People’s market-based sanitation program, implemented in seven countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Her commitment to community-led development runs deep. She firmely believes that communities thrive when they are the architects of their own progress. She helped co-found ADP Impact Hub, a locally led social enterprise born from Africa Development Promise’s vocational training programs, and serves as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). The Hub reflects a development model rooted in local needs, leadership, and opportunity.
Sherina holds a Master’s in Development Management from The Open University (UK) and a Bachelor’s in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University (Uganda). She is an alumna of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and the Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation (SUWAS) International Training Program.
